Sampler of Seeking God’s Face Available for Advent

December 8, 2014

Although a free sampler of the devotional Seeking God’s Face has been available every Advent for the last three years, people this year are showing continuing interest in the sampler on the CRCNA Facebook page, says Mary Schuurmans, marketing specialist for the Faith Alive Christian Resources brand.

After it was recently posted, more than 1,600 people have been reached and the resource has been shared several times, including by a church that is encouraging its members to us the free version and then later buy the whole book.

“This is a great resource for churches and individuals to use at Advent (and anytime) because, according to an Amazon reviewer (Shannon) - ‘it follows the [church] calendar, and can be as long or short of a devotion as you have time for. It helps you read through the Bible, and gives structured prayer time if needed’," says Schuurmans.

Seeking God’s Face is a best-selling Faith Alive resource with about 25,000 copies sold in all formats (regular, compact, large print, and eBook).

“I am not sure how many PDFs of the sampler have been downloaded, but I would guess into the thousands,” says Schuurmans.

In addition, she says, there is this review on the book on Amazon from someone at Schoharie Reformed Church:

"I use this personally and we have given it as gifts many times, including to our consistory (church board). It is excellent in many ways...

“I especially enjoy the diverse and well-rounded reminders for prayer topics as well as the customized closing prayers each day...This is also easily accessible for anyone who can read as it is written for the average person (not just pastors), loosely follows the lectionary, and is all contained... no need to juggle this and a Bible, the texts are printed for you.”
