Two Sermons:
A Survivor’s Prayer:
- This prayer is for survivors of abuse to give words to their anguish and their lament to God. The prayers can also be used in a healing service for all congregants to read privately to address wounds of the heart and soul by someone who betrayed their trust.
Prayers and Confessions:
- Prayers and confessions appropriate for the church’s liturgy; each focuses either on abuse, injustice, or oppression.
Dramas:
- Pulling Punches: drama about domestic violence. Written for two characters; the themes include power, control, psychological abuse, and physical abuse.
- Freedom: a one-person drama (monologue). The drama describes the devastating impact that control has on a marriage, but could also apply to other relationships where there is abuse or extensive control.
Inserts:
- There are two bulletin inserts for Abuse Awareness in 2008. Each is available in Braille.
- Child Abuse Insert: this insert includes a general definition of child abuse and a brief list of the common signs of child abuse.
- Domestic Violence Insert: this insert includes a general description of the dynamics of domestic violence and a brief list of the common signs of domestic violence.
