Peter Choi
Peter entered ordained ministry in the CRC in 2005. Prior to ordination he served in youth and college ministries in California and in Michigan. In 2001 he began serving at Covenant Community Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which in 2005 merged with Lighthouse CRC to become Cornerstone CRC. He is currently studying American religious history at Notre Dame University.

Jerry Dykstra
Jerry has been ordained as a pastor in the CRC since 1990. He has served congregations in Cascade, Michigan and in Walnut Creek, California. He was appointed to the position of Denominational Director of Ministries in 2005, and was appointed to the position of Executive Director of the CRC in 2006.

Roy Heerema
Roy has been a financial advisor for the Northwestern Financial Network since 1973. He has served as an elder in his home church, the Cedar Hills CRC of Wyckoff, New Jersey. He has also served on the NJ-NY Bethany Christian services Board, and he is the chairman of the Northeast Community Transformation Committee. He has a passion for social justice and for promoting Christian stewardship.

Melvin Jackson
Melvin was ordained in the CRC in 2001. He is currently serving a church plant, called Grace Unlimited CRC, in Los Angeles, CA. He has a great passion for evangelism and inner-city youth. Melvin began work on the Candidacy Committee in 2009.

Henry Jonker
Henry has been ordained as a pastor in the CRC since 1974 and currently serves Ladner CRC in Delta, B.C. He has served three other Canadian Churches: Maranatha CRC of Edmonton, AB; Trinity CRC of St. Catherines, ON; and Victoria CRC of Victoria, B.C. He served as chairman of the advisory committee to Synod 2004 which dealt with the Alternative Routes to Ordained Ministry report. His personal interests, as a member of the Candidacy Committee, is in motivating congregations to be more pro-active in indentifying and encouraging individuals who show some indication of interest or passion for ministry.

Duane Kelderman
Duane is Vice President for Administration at Calvin Seminary, where he also teaches preaching and leadership. Before coming to the seminary in 2001, Duane served for 24 years as a pastor in congregations in Toledo, Ohio, Denver, Colorado, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Duane and his wife Jeannette have three children and three grandchildren.

David Koll
David has been ordained as a pastor in the CRC since 1981, serving congregations in Flushing, Michigan, and in Anaheim, California. He has a particular passion for multi-ethnic participation in the CRC, and in developing pastoral leaders. He began work as the Director of Candidacy in January of 2008.

Thea N. Leunk
Thea is currently serving as the senior pastor of Eastern Avenue CRC in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has also served the Crosspoint CRC of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was the classis coach for the Classis Renewal Ministry Team of the CRC. Previous to the creation of the Candidacy Committee she was a member of the synodical study committee on Alternate Routes to Ministry.

Kristin Pikaart
Kristin is a hospital and hospice chaplain in Gallup, New Mexico. She received her M.Div in 2000, and was ordained in the CRC as a ministry associate in 2006. She has a great love for pastoral care and counseling in multi-ethnic communities. With her husband she enjoys caring for her two young children and is an avid backpacker and hiker.

Jay Shim
Jay has been ordained as minister of the Word in the CRC since 1993. After finishing his Ph. D. at Calvin Theological Seminary, he taught at a seminary in Korea for four years. He has been serving as professor of Theology at Dordt College since 2004. Jay has teaching experience in Uganda and China. He is also serving as the director of the Korean Institute for Ministry, a teaching program for the affiliating Korean pastor to the denomination. Jay is highly interested in transmitting the historical Reformed theology to people in modern culture, including diverse ethnic groups.

Jack Vos
Jack is a retired pastor living in Barrie, ON. He functions as mentor and regional pastor, preaches regularly and leads workshops on various aspects of the church’s life and ministry.

Al Wolters
Al recently retired as professor of theology at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, ON. He has a background in philosophy and is currently writing a commentary on the book of Zechariah.
