All around the world, CRWRC responds to natural and man-made disasters, bringing relief and aid those who need it most. CRWRC works in cooperation with other local and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). The resulting responses often use the resources of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB).
CRWRC distributes emergency food and nonfood items, initiates food-for-work projects, and sometimes provides seeds and tools to assist in the rehabilitation process. The goal of CRWRC is to engage in international disaster response activities that maintain and build long-term community development during the relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction phases.
CRWRC receives significant grants from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
for its international relief and development work.
