Characteristics of a Healthy Church
The Ministries Priorities Committee Report (downloadable at right) was adopted by the Board of Trustees at its meeting in February 2005. The report was prepared by a committee of the Board in support of the denominational priority to encourage and sustain the development of healthy congregations.
The report is not intended to be a final and definitive statement. It can best be read as a contribution to an on-going discussion. At this time in the history the Christian Reformed Church—as in many other denominations—there is a clear awareness that congregations need to be encouraged in spiritual vitality and effective ministry. That awareness is not only very important for a local congregation, but as a denomination in the Reformed tradition, it is very important to all who share in the faith and life of the CRC.
We invite and appreciate your response to this document as the discussion continues.
In Christ,
Jerry Dykstra
Executive Director
