Worship Resources

Because our worshiping communities reflect a wide variety of life experiences, and because CRC synodical reports have regularly acknowledged that there are hard cases (rape, incest, severe neurological deficiencies) where grace and compassion require us to love and support rather than judge each other, planning worship that unabashedly celebrates the sanctity of life requires uncommon skill and thought.

The worship resources available from Bethany Christian Services are a good place to begin. They include a sermon preached by Rev. Stan Mast of La Grave CRC, a stunning story from a Calvin College professor, song suggestions, and a short litany. 

Sanctity of Life Sunday

Bethany also provides bulletin inserts and other materials for Sanctity of Life Sunday, which occurs each January. We've also compiled some liturgy suggestions in the form of a responsive reading, texts, and prayer.
