Opportunity Title: Proposal Writer Volunteer
Location: Net Lieun, Prey Veng Province (90 minutes from the capital of Phnom Penh)

CRCNA Partner Group Involved: Chet Thor is a local Cambodia partner who works in the areas of micro-enterprise, health education, environment, income generation, agriculture, advocacy and other areas of community development.
Number of Positions: 1
Expected Length of Service: 6 Months or 12 Months
Dates Opportunity Is Available: Opportunity dates are dependant upon staff, partner and volunteer availability. Applications are due no less than 6 months in advance of placement.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Learn different cultural, administrative and field aspects of community development work
2. Write funding proposals for Chet Thor’s community development work
3. Assist national organization to prepare implementation plans for program activities
4. Participate and contribute in Chet Thor’s staff meetings, staff training, and community planning sessions
5. Assist in other needed program areas as assigned
6. Complete weekly or monthly reports regarding work
Qualifications:
1. Mature Christian committed to serving and following Christ, who is a Canadian or US resident
2. Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, International Development or another related field
3. Some experience in technical writing
4. Good oral communication and organizational skills
5. Respectful of and ability to thrive in cross cultural settings or another culture
6. Able and willing to learn the Khmer language
7. Demonstrated interest in learning about Christian community development
8. Commitment to CRWRC development values
9. Self-starter and able to work and guide own learning without constant on-site supervision
10. Able and willing to work in a team setting
11. Able to nurture own faith in a sometimes isolated environment
12. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
13. Ability to invite others into his/her ministry through prayer and financial support
14. Ability to work effectively while dealing with the ambiguity of learning another culture
15. Flexible, adaptable and able to view life with a sense of humor
Financial Requirements of Volunteer:
Estimation of $16,050 USD (12 Months) or $10,350 (6 months) for RT Airfare to Cambodia, Transfers, In-Country Travel, Insurance, Housing, Food, Living Allowance, Visa Costs, Cell Phone, Language Study and Other Expenses.
