: Volunteer business and/or agricultural developer

Location: Guinea

Number of Positions: 1

CRCNA Ministry Involved: Christian Reformed World Missions

Time Commitment: 6 weeks to 6 months

Dates Opportunity is Available: Immediately 

Purpose: To empower, enable, and train Guineans in creating and running a food-processing and marketing business and/or a small dairy and vegetable farm.

Specific Responsibilities:
FIELD RESPONSIBILITIES
To give direction in a minimum of two of the following areas: business structure, accounting, personnel policies, production process, packaging design and process, marketing research and plan, cattle herd expansion and feeding, small dairy set-up, milk processing, or vegetable (truck) gardening.
NORTH AMERICAN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Educate the CRCNA and others about the nature of the global church and its mission.
• Encourage CRC churches to develop a deeper passion and involvement in international missions.
• Communicate the nature and value of CRWM's ministries to the CRCNA and beyond and participate in support-raising for those ministries by developing and maintaining a network of supporting churches and individuals which will provide prayer, care, and financial support for the ministry.

Qualifications:
• Mature Christian committed to Christ
• Flexible and adaptable
• Compassionate and respectful of other cultures
• Business expertise in one or more of these areas: food production, food processing, marketing, raising dairy cattle, milk processing, or vegetable farming
• French language ability preferred 
• Experience in working in a developing-world context preferred 
• A heart for teaching economic life and business skills from a Christian perspective such that participants are empowered to live with integrity, economic viability, and generosity in an environment of poverty, corruption, and injustice

Expectations of the volunteer:
1) Complete and submit a volunteer application form and resume/CV;
2) Ability to pass a background check;
3) Raise prayer and financial support by inviting individuals, businesses and /or churches to give to this opportunity;
4) Attend an orientation session in the Home Office
5) Adhere to CRCNA Standards of Conduct

Budget
Please note that costs are estimated and listed in US funds.
Transportation to and from the field: $2000
Transportation on the field: $500 (depending on length of stay)
Housing and utilities: $50/month
Ministry expenses: We would encourage the volunteer to raise some money for initial capital expenses of the businesses or for the dairy/vegetable farm expansion. 
Other expenses: $600
Total cost: Minimum $3500

Support Services Provided: ServiceLink and CRWM agree to provide:
- orientation materials as well as ongoing logistics and support to meet the needs of the volunteers and local community;
- pre-trip orientation (required)
- consultation and/or visits by missionary staff when available; 
- opportunity to help volunteers link their individual/church’s mission and vision to work being done;
