Medical Assistance in Dying
Synod 2025 formally condemned Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID).
Our denomination believes all human life is precious and we're deeply concerned about the expansion of MAID, especially for people with mental illness. It's troubling that MAID is expanding when many Canadians can't get mental health care. We're calling for compassionate care instead of expanding MAID. We also believe MAID should never be offered to children or through advance requests. You can speak into these policies using our resources.
