When & Where Was It Held?
The Canadian National Gathering was held at The Kings University in Edmonton, Alberta from May 24-26, 2019. It was a prayer-filled event that built upon the work that began in Waterloo, Ont., in May 2016 at the previous Canadian National Gathering. It also included sharing ministry stories, identifying priorities, and inspiring local, regional, and denominational ministries to take bold steps into the future that God is calling us to.
Who Attended?
Each Canadian classis was asked to send delegates to this meeting.
The selection process began in congregations, with each Canadian CRC asked to provide at least least one nominee for their classis to consider. The leadership team of each classis then reviewed the nominees and made a selection based on the nominee's written statements, the ministry work being done by nominees locally and regionally, and a desire to reflect diversity.
An invitation was sent to those who were selected and they participated in a deliberate discernment process between January and May, 2019. For additional information about the gathering and what is expected of attendees, please read our FAQ document.
