CRC Seeks Next Executive Director
The Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) is currently conducting a widespread search for applicants for the position of Executive Director.
Since Rev. Joel Boot, the current executive director plans to retire next year, the CRC’s Executive Director Search Committee is working to identify a candidate for appointment by Synod 2013, which meets in June, said Loren Veldhuizen, chair of the search committee.
To help in the search, the search committee has posted a new website that publicizes a job description and other pertinent information.
The website is designed to provide information for those who are considering applying as well as for those who wish to nominate someone for the position.
“Our Synod (the broadest assembly of our denomination) instructed the Board of Trustees to conduct a search for our new Executive Director (ED) and this website is designed to provide information regarding the search by making details about the position and the process available,” says information on the website.
All potential candidates for the position of Executive Director of the CRCNA, says the site, are requested to send the following to the chairperson of the search committee:
- A letter detailing why the applicant is interested in the position and feels qualified and called to apply.
- A résumé/curriculum vitae detailing qualifications and experiences pertinent to the position.
- A list of three potential references. Please note that references will not be contacted by the Search Committee without receiving prior permission from the candidate.
Even if you are not planning to apply or nominate someone for executive director, says the site, people should feel free to explore the site’s content.
“Our denomination is a binational church with nearly 1,100 congregations and 250,000 members spread across Canada and the United States,” said Veldhuizen.
“We are urban and rural, young and old, men and women of varied ethnicities, striving together to serve our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, by transforming lives and communities. Our beliefs, ministries, and history are detailed on this site.”
