CRCNA Hires New IT Director
The Christian Reformed Church in North America is pleased to welcome Eric Sowers as its new director of information technology (IT).
“My passion for helping the church grow through the use of my skills and experience is what makes this position especially exciting for me,” Sowers said when applying for the job.
Sowers has 17 years of progressive IT experience, most recently with Living Water International, where he served as senior Salesforce administrator. He also worked previously as IT director for the Reformed Church in America for seven years and brings an understanding of what is needed for a church denomination to succeed.
“I have experience in managing products that users love and in leading development teams that deliver quality products,” said Sowers, who is also a certified project management professional. He added that he also has “a deep conviction to make a difference for the gospel.”
The CRCNA IT director role has previously been filled by Shirley DeVries, who has continued with many of the role’s responsibilities while also taking on the chief administrative officer position in November 2022. She will now step back from IT responsibilities in order to focus more on other administrative duties.
“I am excited for CRCNA IT, the organization as a whole, and for Eric as he joins our team,” said DeVries. “I look forward to supporting him as he steps into this role.”
Sowers will begin in his new role on Oct. 21 and will work out of the Grand Rapids, Mich. office.
