Great Turnout for Calvin Seminary Golf Classic
More than 100 guests participated in the 9th annual Calvin Theological Seminary Golf Classic at Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Mich., June 12.
Participants had a fantastic day at the beautiful course in West Michigan. This annual event originated as a creative way for the seminary to generate new sources of revenue to offset tuition costs for seminarians via the Annual Fund.
Golfers competed for a variety of honors, including “Closest to the Pulpit.” An additional 100 guests joined the group for dinner.
The event raised an astonishing $247,000 for the seminary Annual Fund to help ensure that the seminary ends its fiscal year well.
John M. Vander Haag, the event’s honorary chair, summed up the day, saying, “We are overwhelmed by the success of this event and for the breadth and depth of support that exists for the Calvin Seminary! We are blessed.”
