Sharing Joy and God’s Message in West Africa
The first time that Naomie stepped foot in a Christian church, she sensed something was different.
“There was a feeling of excitement,” Naomie recalls. “A joy in living and being together.”
Growing up in a Muslim family in Burkina Faso, West Africa, Naiomie’s first church visit coencided with her parent’s sudden move to another city.
“The school year wasn’t over yet, so I had to stay behind and live with a Christian aunt of mine,” Naiomie said.
Video Testimonies with ReFrame Ministries
Naiomie recently shared her testimony on a youth video series from ReFrame Ministries’ French outreach in Burkina Faso. ReFrame Ministries is the new name of Back to God Ministries International.
In the video, she shared how that initial visit to a church caused her to want to continue learning about why the Christians she met seemed so joyful.
“As someone who had not experienced much love in their life before, I was honestly moved to the extent that I had to give my life to Jesus Christ,” Naiomie added.
Naiomie didn’t keep her new faith to herself. In fact, she shared what she was learning with her mother, who recently became a Christian too.
Temptations at University
Today, Naiomie studies at a university, where she faces new challenges. After watching some of her peers on ReFrame’s videos, she offered her own testimony to encourage other young people to stay strong in their faith.
“Like any young person, I experience ups and downs,” Naiomie said. “But with God, I always conquer.”
Young volunteers like Naiomie have recorded episodes that discuss pornography, unemployment, drugs, and other challenges common to youth in Burkina Faso.
“The volunteers work during many holidays to reach their peers with God’s message on Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp,” said Rev. Marc Nabie, ReFrame’s French Ministry leader. “Pray for them as Easter approaches and young people find their messages.”
