An Unexpected Knock

An unexpected knock on the church door at Immanuel CRC in Langley, B.C., led to an extraordinary encounter. A young man had accompanied a refugee claimant family who had just arrived in Canada, to the nearest church, seeking help. What began as an unplanned moment became a community-wide effort to welcome the family.
As the CRC lives into the milestones of its Our Journey ministry plan, this story illustrates how God is working in the Christian Reformed Church in North America, both in guiding us to grow in our spiritual practices through stepping out in faith, and in helping us to live out the gospel missionally.
