World Renew Welcomes Chief Marketing and Philanthropy Officer
World Renew is the disaster response and community development agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. As part of its global ambition to combat hunger, enhance economic opportunities, and improve health worldwide, World Renew recently introduced Mike White as chief marketing and philanthropy officer (CMPO) on their Global Executive Team.
The CMPO position is a new role for the organization and will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction on a global scale by ensuring financial stability for World Renew's mission to end global poverty and hunger.
"I'm anticipating the journey ahead as World Renew transitions from a binational entity to a global and multilocal organization," White said. "Serving as CMPO is a deep honor, and I look forward to learning from our supporters, partners, clients, and staff."
In assuming the role of CMPO, White brings 15 years of experience in leading marketing and development efforts in nonprofits focused on international development. Prior to his contributions to the nonprofit sector, White spent more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry, holding progressively responsible roles at well-known firms.
White earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and a master's degree in theological studies (MTS) from Tyndale Seminary.
"Mike's experience and passion for World Renew's mission make him an exceptional addition to our leadership team," said Jamie McIntosh, executive director of World Renew-Canada. "We are confident that his strategic insights and commitment to World Renew's values will propel us further in achieving our global objectives."
White is the second hire for World Renew’s Global Executive Team. He joins Ru Waddell, who was hired as chief program and impact officer in early January. Recruitment for a chief financial and investment officer is currently under way.
