Youth Lead Ecumenical Worship
One of the milestones of the CRCNA’s ministry plan, Our Journey 2025, states that as churches and communities we desire to be places that “listen to the voices of every generation, shaping us for ministry together.”
What does this look like practically in our churches? One example can be found in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI). Charlottetown is the largest city in the province of PEI, with a population of 36,000. And nestled within this community is Charlottetown CRC, with about 250 members.
Recently the young people of Charlottetown CRC decided to partner with the youth of several other area churches to lead an ecumenical worship service. The first youth worship night took place in February 2023. The event was such a success that the young people wanted to continue.
Adult worship leaders have agreed to mentor these young people and assist them with more events. The most recent event was held in April, and plans are in progress to hold another one this summer.
