Discipleship Group Resources
- Come and See...Our World Belongs to God is a discipleship manual based on the Contemporary Testimony Our World Belongs to God written and designed by CRC Pastor Sid Couperus for high school students, new believers, small groups, and followers of Jesus.
- Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
- Christianity Explored (CE). CE uses a similar format to Alpha (invitation, food, talk, discussion) where guests are welcomed unconditionally and encouraged to ask any question or offer any opinion without judgment. It involves a 7-week journey through the gospel of Mark, including a day away. It originated in a church in London, England, All Souls, Langham Place under the leadership of John Stott. Can be a great follow-up to Alpha.
- Companions: Accompanying Newcomers Into Church Life and Faith
- The Gospel Centered Life by Robert H. Thune and Will Walker
- The Jesus Questions by CRC pastor Sam Gutierrez. From Syd Hielema: Our small group did this together, and we were richly blessed by it. It's appropriate for both long-term and new believers.
- Visit buildfaith.org/adult-discipleship and buildfaith.org/adult-catechumenate for a great listing of adult discipleship courses, programs, and books.
- The Bible Project has produced excellent animated videos that introduce and give context for each book of the Bible. Also available are podcasts and study guides that explore the Bible's unified story.

- From Mimi Larson: I have found James Bryan Smith's work very good. His book Embracing the Love of God is extraordinarily helpful in terms of identity in Christ. I also read his newer book, The Magnificent Story: Uncovering a Gospel of Beauty, Goodness, and Truth which might be a good resource for tender believers.
