Synod 2025 will be June 10-17 at Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario.  The theme for this year is  “Journey with Jesus” based on the Emmaus Road story of Luke 24, the theme also used at the ten Gather events throughout the denomination.

This theme will help bring a focus not only to Synod but to the prayers of thousands of people who prayed for the gatherings. The prayer initiatives for this year include a Pre-Synod Prayer Gathering, a Prayer Walk at Redeemer, 40 Days of Prayer in advance of synod, 30-Minute Prayer Vigil, early morning prayer at synod, Facebook prayer, Prayer Intercessors at synod, and worship and prayer during synod. 

The “Journey with Jesus” on the road finds us with these themes:

• We had hoped - where we have disappointment, and unmet expectations
• Slow to Believe - there are times that we don’t see God at work or don’t trust the work he’s doing
• Recognizing Jesus - God is at work and we can see Jesus at work among us no matter what the circumstances
• Returning to Jerusalem - We share the good news
• Clothed with Power - The Spirit fills us for the Kingdom work where he leads.

If you would like to participate in prayer, here are the different ways: 

Pre-Synod Prayer Gathering at Grace CRC, Ancaster, Ont. - A  Pre-Synod Prayer Gathering will be taking place Wednesday, June 11 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. If you are in the Ontario area and are interested in attending, please register here. An evening prayer service will also be held at Grace CRC from 7:00-8:30 p.m. All are welcome.  

Prayer Walk - Join others in praying through the spaces of Synod 2025 on June 12 from 9-11 a.m. Volunteers will walk through Redeemer’s campus, pausing in meeting rooms, the gymnasium and other synod spaces to pray for the events about to take place.  Please register here if you plan to attend so that we can plan accordingly.  

40 Days of Prayer - 40 Days of Prayer are written prayers representing the diversity of CRC members that will guide us for the 40 days leading up to synod. Sign up to receive an email with the prayer for the day, or a PDF with each week’s prayers. The 40 Days of Prayer will begin on May 4 and will conclude as Synod 2025 delegates gather on June 12.

30 Minute Prayer Vigil - sign up to pray 30 minutes a day for Synod 2025, at a time that works for you. Daily prayer guides will be emailed out each morning to those who signed up. These prayer guides will also be used for the early morning prayer at Synod by the delegates who participate.

Prayer on the CRCNA facebook page - Each morning of Synod, one of the Synod Prayer Team members will lead a time of prayer using the Daily Prayer Guide. It can be found on the CRCNA Facebook page.
