우리의 입장

언약 공동체인 북미주 개혁교회는, 기독교 교육으로 인생의 전 영역에 영향을 미치는 사회 기관인 기독교학교에 헌신합니다. 교회는 교회 교육프로그램의 일부로 아이들에게 교리와 신앙고백을 가르침으로써 기독교 신앙의 기초를 전합니다. 비록 북미주 개혁교회가 기독교 사립 학교를 소유하고 운영하는 것은 아니지만 기독교 교육이 부모의 책임이자 공동체의 책임이라는 것을 확언합니다. 따라서 교회와 교회의 그룹은 교회의 자녀들이 삶의 모든 영역에서 예수그리스도의 주되심을 인정하는 교육을 받도록 회중 차원의 지원을 제공하도록 격려합니다. 2005년 기독교 사립학교에 관한 보고서를 채택한 후 총회는 성경적이고 개혁적인 비전으로 모든 창조 영역에서의 그리스도의 주되심을 가르치는 기독교 학교를 설립하고 운영하는 데에 교인들이 참여할 것을 권면했습니다.

History

The CRC has supported the establishment and growth of Christian schools since the beginning of its history. In 1870, 1881, 1892, and 1898, synod made special declarations to that effect. Synod 1955 adopted a study committee report on the principles of Christian education. Synod 1971 broadened the scope of ecclesiastical endorsement from Christian day schools to Christian education from elementary school through institutions of higher learning.

Churches and groups of churches are encouraged “to develop and promote plans for congregational support so that all the church’s children have an opportunity to receive an education where the lordship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged” (Acts of Synod 2003, pp. 626-27). In 2005 synod adopted a report on Christian day school education (Acts of Synod 2005, pp. 352-481, 765-75; see crcna.org/SynodResources) and recommends that churches “diligently encourage . . . [their] members . . . to establish and maintain . . . good Christian schools in which the biblical, Reformed vision of Christ’s lordship over all creation is clearly taught.”
